This privacy policy applies to the mobile app ESC Guesser (App ID: com.brickcheek.escguesser) and the associated website ziegelwanger.eu/brickcheek.
The app was built with data minimisation in mind. No user accounts are created and no personal data such as name, email address or location is collected.
When fetching game content (data updates), the following anonymous information is transmitted to the server:
These data points cannot be traced back to any individual. No IP address is stored. The data is used solely for anonymous usage analysis (e.g. which devices use the app).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in anonymous usage analysis to improve the app.
The app includes an optional contact form. When a message is submitted, the following data is stored:
The IP address itself is not stored. Messages are retained until manually deleted by the operator and used solely to respond to the request and improve the app. No data is shared with third parties.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / pre-contractual measures) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
The app stores game progress, settings and backup data exclusively on the user's device (localStorage / AsyncStorage). This data never leaves the device and is not transmitted to any server.
The app is downloaded via the Google Play Store. Google LLC's privacy policy applies to that process. We have no influence over Google's data processing. For more information visit: policies.google.com/privacy.
The app displays advertisements via Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).
To serve ads, AdMob may collect and process the following data:
Before personalised advertising is used, you will be asked for your consent via a consent dialog when you first launch the app (Google User Messaging Platform / UMP). You can withdraw or change your consent at any time in the app settings.
Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown. AdMob may still collect minimal data for fraud prevention and frequency capping.
Data is processed partly in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) for personalised advertising; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for non-personalised advertising.
